New Study Singles Out Factors Linked to Cognitive Deficits in Type 2 Diabetes
Older adults with diabetes who have high blood pressure, walk slowly or lose their balance, or believe they’re in bad health, are significantly more likely to have weaker memory and slower, more rigid cognitive processing than those without these problems, according to a new study published by the American Psychological Association.

Risk factors for venous thromboembolism and pulmonary embolism differ between races
( Wiley-Blackwell ) A new study of 1,960 white Americans and 368 black Americans with objectively diagnosed venous thromboembolism showed that, compared to whites, blacks had a significantly higher proportion with pulmonary embolism, including idiopathic PE among black women, and a significantly higher proportion of blacks with VTE were women.
